Liverpool injury woes ahead of West Ham opener

|

£40m new Liverpool signing Fabinho has emerged as a new injury doubt for this Sunday’s season opener against West Ham. The Brazilian midfielder was seen leaving the club’s Melwood training ground with a club doctor yesterday after picking up a knock in training.

Dejan Lovren is unlikely to feature as he only returned to training recently, following his involvement as Croatia reached the World Cup final.  Jordan Henderson is also unlikely to play after figuring in the England side that reached the final weekend of the tournament. Trent Alexander-Arnold was also involved with the Three Lions .

Klopp’s biggest problem comes at centre-back, where Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez all have minor injuries as they bid to partner Virgil van Dijk in Lovren’s absence.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to miss the entire season after a  horror knee injury in which he damaged every ligament.

It might be a good time to play Liverpool.

Liverpool may have injury problems but I doubt West Ham will get much from this match.

    I’d start a defensive 11

    Adrian
    Zabs, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Creswell
    Antonio, Noble, Rice, Wilshire, Masuaku
    Arnie

Jeez Limey… are you David Moyes incognito? No Anderson or Fredricks, Chica or Perez? Let’s play for a loss and hope it’s only by 2 or 3.

Let’s start as we mean to go on and face any club to win regardless of injuries to us or them.
Pelligrini will have been giving the boy’s new roles and tactics work in progress because of the short space of time they have had together I think we are gonna surprise a lot of pundits and teams and not roll over for anyone this season.
    We will win 2-1
Lose or draw if we give them a game I still be happy
    COYI .

Realistically I think we’ll get turned over on Sunday. We’ve got enough going forward to give them a few problems but defensively we’ve looked a bit of a mess pre season and that’s been against very moderate opposition.

I hope I’m wrong but I think Pello will take a good few games to get things sorted – however, can’t wait for it all to begin COYI……….

It would just be nice to see West Ham giving the top teams a game as apposed to the type of performance that we gave against Man City at home last season. Bilic did it in his first season then fear took a hold after that. The final result may be the same but at least put up a fight and get the crowd involved.

Well said West boy…. Lets get at em and see how we Fare!! Fortunes only favour the Brave!! I know we’re fielding a team that’s finding their feet but it’s the start of the season and anything can happen……Boom!! A win at Annfield…now that will be a treat !! 2-1 HammerTime!
