Report: Pellegrini wants Real midfielder

|

West Ham are today reported as being ready to move in on Real Madrid midfielder  Dani Ceballos.

Zinedine Zidane is expecting to oversee a big clear out after a disappointing season which sees the Madrid giants in third place in La Liga, 15 points behind Barcelona and six behind Atletico Madrid.

According to the Mirror, both Manuel Pellegrini and director of football Mario Husillos are big admirers of Ceballos and believe that he could be a huge success at the London Stadium.

The attacking central midfielder has been regularly followed by Hammers scouts but his abilities are well known to the managerial duo anyway,

With a contract until 2023 he won’t come cheap, with Real wanting in the region of £22 million for the 22 year old. However, according to the Mirror the Hammers have been alerted to his availability as Zidane starts a cash-raising exercise for Paul Pogba and Eden Hazard.

They are ready to sacrifice Ceballos and Pellegrini is set to move heaven and earth to bring in a player whom he rates highly but who has made just 12 full appearances this season plus another 10 as sub.

The Irons have promised him around £30 million in the summer plus any cash he raises from sales whilst being ready also to borrow money for the purchase of Maxi Gomez.
