Antonio all set for three more years

ClaretandHugh Exclusive by Hugh Southon

Man of the moment Hammers hero Michail Antonio looks lined up for another three years at the club – MINIMUM!

Mikey became the first player to score four goals in any Premier League match since its formation at Norwich yesterday as the irons took a big step towards safety.

His contract expires in May next year but ClaretandHugh has learned this evening the club has a two year option on him which will take him beyond his 33rd birthday in the March of 2023.

It explains his recent declaration that he wanted to end his career at the Hammers and will meanĀ  he would have spent eight years with the club after being signed by Slaven Bilic in 2015.

He has been in brilliant form since the resumed Premier League programme and has now found the net six times in the last four games.

He put yesterday’s four timer down to manager David Moyes instructions to ensure he stayed in the penalty area rather than moving to the wings.

A source told CandH by e mail: ” His deal runs out next May but we have a two year option on him which will of course be triggered.

Thanks for the article and news, sir.
Very positive indeed. What an amazing maturity into a potent centre-forward. Another Moyes/Arnie transformation.
I have really become frustrated with Antonio’s movements in recent matches.
Even against Norwich he once ventured onto the right wing. And of course Jarrod slotted in at centre-forward. But lazy Antonio did not track back, resulting in frantic defending to avoid a potential goal.
So Antonio regularly taking up box positions is the right thing. And then another call-up to the national team.
Come on Antonio. Coyi. God bless West Ham.
