Fingers crossed for Irons on international duty

Yarmo on duty for the Ukraine

Hammers fans will have everything crossed that no injuries befall our four internationals ahead of the upcoming Uefa Nations Cup fixtures.

Declan Rice, however, looks certain to miss England’s games against Iceland and Denmark with a foot injury given that he is still training alone and involved in gym work.

However, goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski could be in action against the Netherlands on September 4 and again against Bosnia and Herzegovina. on September 7.

Tomas Soucek has two important games looming when Slovakia meet the Czech Republic on September 4 before the team play Scotland on September 7.

Finally, Andriy Yarmolenko could also be on duty in Ukraine’s games against Switzerland on September 3 and Spain on September 6.

Those that are travelling will also be strictly checked given Covid19 and although we understand that these matches need to be played of course it does present an unwanted distraction to their club sides ahead of the seasonal kick off on the 12th.

I wonder what happens if the government puts countries on the quarantine list, half the players might be in lockdown.
The clubs must be pulling their hair out with this needless internationals.
