Allardyce admits to a ‘West Ham Way’

|

sad samSam Allardyce has regularly declared there is no such thing as the ‘West Ham Way.’

Back in 2012 at a press conference he declared: “There has never been a ‘West Ham way’ shown to me, not by anybody that’s worked with West Ham who I have inherited.

“I’ve spoken to them all and none of them can tell me or define what the West Ham way is. So it is a bit of a delusion.”

Yet only a year earlier as he marched into the Boleyn as the new boss he was preaching a very different message.

In an interview – with the Evening Standard on his arrival at the club as manager – he had declared: “When I was a player I always wanted to come and play at Upton Park.

“The legacy always impressed me as a young man – Bobby Moore, Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst and then players like Trevor Brooking and Billy Bonds.

“It was a pleasure and a privilege to play against players like that although I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it too much because we didn’t win too many.

“As a manager coming back to Upton Park, the plan was always to stop the way West Ham wanted to play – the West Ham ‘way’.

“That used to frustrate the fans and the players and then we were able to take advantage of that.

So finally, the truth is out – Sam has known about the ‘West Ham Way for close on for a very long time! Glad we could clear that one up for you!

This man is simply embarassing. His dream was to become a mediocre coach making money… congratulations BFS, you did it.

Haha, good work Hugh.Of Course he has always know what it was or ment to Irons fans but he wanted to be the man bigger than the club.Even fans from other clubs can tell someone what it is or what they believe it to be.But it is known to most football fans who know anything about the game.Same as they understand historically why we are called The Academy Of Football.Though Sam has done his utmost in 4yrs to make sure no one from the youth set-up progresses. The guy is just an arrogant fool.By saying he knew nothing about West Ham Way & it was a myth was just a way to cover his ass when he couldnt produce this type of football because The Sophisticated One hasnt got the managerial ability to ever be able to play the West Ham Way he has never heard of or people cant explain to him.Time to take a walk Samasaurus,a long one hopefully 😉

HUGH he probably always knew but was never intelligent enough to actually understand it,
Rads is Wright about are young players look at this year Oxford,Boothe and Lee not a look in and last weekend when Noble went off we needed Poyet on the bench and we end up with O,Brien,
Never mind another week nearly gone and another week nearer BFS taking a hike.

  • Of course bubs – written for embarrassment purposes LOL

I don’t know what the “West Ham way” really is either.
All I know seeing West Ham whether it’s Moore, Peter and Hurst on the TV. Then Bonds,Brooking,Devonshire and John’s Lyall team’s was that I enjoyed it. Great football at times. Sometimes of course it was crap. Over the last few years it’s been pretty average and I haven’t been to much lately.
Football should be entertaining and not boring otherwise who would watch it.

    I don’t think it’s the “West Ham way” it’s Football’s Way”

  • bubs says:

There been a reason it been crap lately BFS,Pardewand no money to buy players that play entertaining football,
It’s not the football way because there are teams out there still playing good football,
The manager decides what sort of football you play by the team he picks and the instructions he gives the team, the result is the problem because you don’t alway win.
