Allardyce confirms Diarra problem

|

lassana-diarra-real-madridSam Allardyce looks ready to move in on Lassana Diarra again at the end of the season…and blames himself for wasting time trying to sign him over the last three weeks.

ClaretandHugh revealed exclusively earlier this week that the player and his club Moscow Lokomoitiv had unresolved financial issues to be solved before the player was free to move on.

And  with Fifa still probing the situation it was never likely to be possible for the player to move to Upton Park,

Allardyce came close to confirming all of that in his London Evening Standard column today saying: “The fact we couldn’t get the Lassana Diarra deal across the line was probably more my fault than his.

“I thought it was a simple contract cancellation – but it wasn’t as straightforward as that. Maybe I should have investigated the circumstances more thoroughly before we negotiated for more than three weeks.

“It turned out it wasn’t a mutual contract cancellation between Lassana and his previous club, Lokomotiv Moscow, and didn’t fulfil the Fifa criteria on signing players outside the transfer window.”

Now the player will clearly be a target in the summer for as again revealed by this site he enters the last year of his contract with the Moscow club and can walk away if he chooses under Fifa rules.

However, the Irons boss intimated that he could resurrect a deal for Diarra at the end of the season, when he is expected to be available free of hassle.

Allardyce said: “We may well return to him in the summer. Lassana is a fine player who needs to resurrect his career and re-establish himself as the player he used to be.

Which team are you going to sign him for BFS because with a lot of luck it won’t be ours,
He would be a good cover if Song goes elsewhere,
But if Nolan stays he would be an expensive sub .

Well he will be a freebie wont he.But without wanting to upset all the Sammerette Cheerleaders on here, when the press are saying two weeks ago it is probably a no go because of his contractual dispute how the hell did Samuel not look into it more.At least someone from the club.It would save alot of hassle. It has been no secret FIFA were involved after his falling out with Lokomotiv & the chances of him signing for us were very low at this time.Instead you have Sam saying he could be involved in 10 days for us if he signs the contract.**** poor planning at best.

Yes but will BFS still be there in the summer?

He wasted the whole transfer window trying to get Fletcher, then 3 weeks with this mess how would anyone in our legal team be able to read any paper work after the FIFA rules were to complicated,
We wanted a central defender first now a forward and what were we messing with a MIDFIELDER say no more BFSwill proberly sign a keeper with all his NOUS .

Yes but the simple fact that the media were saying that it was a no go should have set alarm bells ringing. They dont always get things right, but many outlets were all saying the same thing when he started training with us.How could we let it get so far that Sam was actually talking about him being ready in 10 days if he signs the contract.Wouldnt it have been better not to even discuss this until the deal was done. With the complications involved better to announce anything when it is cut & dried rather than looking a little foolish & having to admit he should have looked into it more. Its amatuerish 😉
