Sam blasts Euro no-hopers and ‘ungrateful’ owners!

|

samallardyce-cropped_o5z7qav742vd1nm9ev6q0oyyrFormer manager Sam Allardyce has branded West Ham’s owners “ungrateful”.

In a scathing attack on David Gold and David Sullivan, Big Sam has dismissed the club’s chances of qualifying for Europe this season, admitting his own lack of faith in the squad may have wrecked his chances of landing  a new deal!

The 60-year-old chose to issue his remarks to beIN Sports declaring: “‘The ‘West Ham Way’ is obviously not winning every week, like I tried to do!

“I did everything they asked for and they wanted more – and I found that extremely ungrateful in terms of what I’d done for them.

“They thought we could get into Europe and thought they might be able to get to a cup final, and that wasn’t in the format of the job description when I started.

“I don’t take kindly to people who don’t appreciate what you do for them.

“We both decided to part company in quite an amicable way in the end. But I certainly wasn’t going to stay, in my mind, for a long, long time.

“If David Sullivan and David Gold have told Slaven Bilic that they expect to get into Europe this year, then I think it’s way beyond the capabilities of the squad at this moment in time.

“I told them that. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why they didn’t renew my contract in the end?

“West Ham was a case of building a broken football club back up again. [And getting West Ham promoted] was the biggest job I had done in one season.

“Ultimately, my biggest problem was finishing 10th in the first year [back in the Premier League] — I would have been much better off finishing fourth from bottom!”

And in an additional side swipe, Allardyce added: “A manager today is fast becoming something owners don’t want. They [the owners] are in charge of the football club and want to see it flourish and the days of the manager being the almighty, dominant power like they used to be are long, long gone.”

Thank goodness for that!

Ha ha ha .. Bitter, fat sad old w*nker. Got paid much more than he deserved and hopefully will never work again … Plod off and die you *****

    I’m not a fan 🙂

What a sad man. I guess that Sam is probably a nice bloke outside his day job – that’s the only explanation I can think of for the ridiculous level of support he gets from all the old timers and media men.
I think this latest rant is simply designed to put pressure on Slav, implying that Euro qualification this season was somehow expected/promised. Wait for him and his buddies to pile in at the end of the season if we don’t qualify – which most of us would not expect this term in any event.
We’re playing West Ham football Sam – get over it! Sad man!

Hard to find a more self-promoting, egotistical, deluded, arrogant and bitter manager out there. Things are never his fault, it’s always other people or circumstances.
Why did he leave Bolton ? Well, he told us because that club didn’t match his ambitition.
So now his latest club had ambition, but failed to put that in his job description apparently and didn’t buy Messi for him to achieve that ambition.
Last year we were reminded by those defending and supporting Allardyce that we should be grateful for him helping to stabilise our club.
Which I did in the end despite me still feeling very relieved he’s gone.
After reading all that stuff even my sense of gratitude stats to dissolve.
No matter what happens at our club, even after leaving our club Allardyce will continue to linger: If we do well this season, it’ll all be because of his fantastic groundwork he did in the last four years, leaving Bilic such a brilliant team.
If things don’t go so well, it’ll be because Allardyce is no longer with us.
If he were to manage Barcelona, finishing in ninth place, there would be plenty of reasons for that, but none relating to Allardyce: Bad refereeing decisions, injuries, the moon aligning with Mars, fans’ expectations or a player hitting the post instead of goal.
Each day I’m happier he is no longer involved at West Ham.

Ungrateful you don’t even know the meaning of the word you egotistical tosser. 3 million a year for what Hippo cupping your ear? Paying a fortune for a striker that never plays ,a midfielder who has lost his legs but still greasing the palm of your own dirty little agent who surprise surprise represents them and you? Your problem is you overachieved? Net spend less than Stoke and Swansea yet they finished above us, bending over so Mourhinio can **** you up the arse, throwing in the towel in the FA cup at West Brom leading the kids to a slaughter at Forest… Never been relegated ? neither has Zola and he achieved the magical 50 points that you couldn’t and never bad mouthed us even though the owners truly treated him like ****… To those who constantly support this clown ,he’s a one trick pony who’s made a career by doing nothing supported by a media who would be up in arms if he was in the frame to manage there team…

What a total lack of class from the Hippo – a real nasty bit of work!

We had to sit through some really dire performances under his Management – we’re well rid of him!

  • boys of 66 says:

Most amusing thing for me is the fact that at the end of the season people were saying he would never slag the board or club because he will keep a dignified silence. We all said give it a month or two & he woukd show his true colours. But no they still insisted he would be gracious, lol, when has Hippo ever been gracious,he is an egotist, they dont so gracious or dignified 😉

  • MerryMichaelW says:

How pleased I am, that this ghastly man has left us.

I have had to defend him, time and again, on one of the biggest football blogs around – and I was mightily tired of that.

He might want to reflect that injuries forced him to field our perfect team – and that HE chose to ignore that lesson.

Stupidity always reflects a lack of imagination. Football may indeed be fantasy – but THAT is exactly what makes it such an important part of our culture. As he retires from the fray, he might want to reflect on that. Or perhaps not.

  • bubs says:

Friday is Hippo day,not enough when we had to put up with his column in the evening standard to make excuses for is work when he was manager, now his going around the
Looking for small TV companies or papers that want to listen to his nasty little digs that no one cares about, next week it will be the Bangkok star or the Create sun, then he will be writing weekly for wetpants .com the end of the line,
I hope other clubs owners are watching hoe grateful he was for tacking £12 million for finishing 3rd in the championship destroying our academy and splitting our fan base,
We told you 2 Daves what back stabbing little toad he was ( nasty piece of work )

  • Bang 'em in. says:

Total tosser who we all knew woudnt be able to keep quiet for long.He needs to protect his massive ego.Slug!!!

  • jetshammer says:

“Trying to win every week like I did” – pah! Don’t make me laugh you sad excuse for a man. 3 wins in 21… Didn’t try hard enough then did you.

“They thought we could get into Europe and thought they might be able to get to a cup final, and that wasn’t in the format of the job description when I started.” – No maybe not when you started, but after 3 seasons and Premier League safety what’s wrong with aiming a bit higher? Obviously he loves to just hang around the mid table. Pathetic.

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Allardyce did do a good job and what was asked of him up until the point when the owners said they wanted to play a better brand of football, he should accept that he failed in that regard and the responsibility was entirely his, we could have won numerous games if he hadn’t made negative substitutions that resulted in every case with us only getting a draw when we were in winning positions. Once or twice that can said to be unlucky but 7 or 8 times is bad management, it is he who is ungrateful, he had the opportunity and failed to rise to the challenge, if he can’t change he should accept his limitations, when it comes to survival football he and Pullis are top of the tree but that is not a brand that is enjoyable to watch for any length of time. Good luck Sam in your next venture now keep your mouth shut and move on.

I didn’t read all the previous comments ……
But what we know and what Sam needs to digest is that the product he wanted to serve up was absolutely dire. League positions, cup runs, chairman’s expectations, to a certain extent irrelevant. Hammers fans turn up to watch football and go from there.
Sam didn’t offer football…just a diabolical version of variation on a theme.
Sam’s problem is that he had no plan B….there was absolutely nothing in the creativity tank, nothing. A couple of lucky results papered over the crap he served. The players just had to go along with it faithfully.

We don’t ask for much…a few wins against Spurs and Man Utd a decent cup run and some decent footie and a good time/ singsong/saturday afternoon.

Would like to see Allardyce at Arsenal!………..empty the seats even quicker!
