Ok, we understand the season isn’t officially over but I think most accept now that in real terms it is done and dusted one way or another.
We will have to wait for the outcome of the Uefa meeting on Tuesday to discover perhaps whether the campaign will be voided but we have probably seen enough for our purposes to decide on the Hammer of the Year.
In a season such as this, finding candidates is a problem but there have been three who have regularly caught the eye for me.
Angelo Ogbonna has been fantastic at the back despite the team conceding 50 goals – only Southampton, Villa and Norwich have conceded more.
Robert Snodgrass has given everything he has got and of course Declan Rice has regularly played to his usual high standard regardless of what’s been going on around him.
There have been others and Jeremy Ngakia is a clear winner of young player of the year – well done young man!
But after much thought my vote – despite those goals will go to Oggy, with Declan as runner up and the hugely worthy Snoddy in third place.
Agree spot on, and in that order
Rightly so. Oggy has been really great through the whole season and hardly put a foot wrong.
If it saves us getting relegated my hammer of the year of the year should be boris johnson for cancelling the premier league.
He didn’t the PL did.
Quite correct. Let us hope they can cascade money to the lower leagues now so we don’t end up with multiple Bury scenarios which would kill the game as know it
