Anderson wants Irons to become “invincible” at home by Hugh Southon

Felipe Anderson produced probably his best performance in a West Ham shirt at the weekend and was – with Seb Haller – probably responsible for inspiring the team to an outstanding victory.

The Brazilian demonstrated the full array of samba tricks from nut-megging to disguised passes to brilliant dribbling runs which showed him of as one of the Premier League’s finest on his day.

And he could not have been more pleased with the outcome of a game which saw every member of the team demonstrate that the Manuel Pellegrini pure  pass and move football message, preached relentlessly since he arrived at the, club is getting through in a big way.

Attacking intent

It’s a brand of football which if built on can surely lift the team into the top six, seven or eight and Anderson makes it clear that this is the way to play if we want to create and score the goals which will do that.

Anderson said. “Unfortunately, we didn’t start the season as we would have liked it, with that defeat at home [against Manchester City].

But we knew we were working well, we had an exceptional preparation, so we knew the results would come. And now we have showed our good side in these victories.

“We’re playing intelligently and keeping possession of the ball and that makes easier to create chances and to convert them of course.

“Our base of players is still the same, last season there were a lot of new faces, so it was harder to mould them into a unit but this season we already have that base, and the new players have quality so the process is easier.”

Anderson wants Irons to become invincible

“I have always said that West Ham have the quality to play against any rival. Our idea is to be invincible at home and then try to get results away. So, we can play against anyone and we know it, but we also know that we have to go step by step.”
