Michail Antonio had a successful operation on Tuesday to repair his torn hamstring. It is the third time the player has gone under the knife for a serious hamstring tear in as many years.
Optimistic club personnel believe the player could recover in as little as three months keeping him out until December however a more realistic estimate from a senior club insider has suggested four to five months is the more likely scenario.
Antonio first suffered a hamstring injury in March 2017 missing 17 days returning early for the Arsenal defeat where he broke down again only to face surgery and another 124 out of actions not returning until August. It was deja vu again in 2018 with another grade tear at the end of March and another operation, this time missing 142 days until his return in August 2018.
With the player reaching thirty next year there must be concern about his reoccurring hamstring tears so it would be a surprise if he is rushed back early. He is likely to return in January ort February next year.
