Andy Carroll suffers whiplash

|

carrollSlaven Bilic told reporters that Andy Carroll is suffering a whiplash injury while admitting Reid, Byram and Feghouli have all suffered knocks.

During his pre match press conference Slav said “Carroll has got a bit of a whip lash injury, that is not my words, that is what I have been told from the physios, a whip lash injury. I went to a dictionary basically to find out what is that. He has a sore neck so hopefully he is going to be OK”

Asked by one reporter how he received the whip lash injury?

Slav replied: “It was the end of the game, I don’t know but he trained on Tuesday very hard, he was brilliant in training to be fair and then he reported some neck pain but as I said, hopefully he will be OK and we have a couple of them with knocks, We have Winston Reid with a knock, it’s a painful one. Sam Byram got a knock on his knee, it was swollen, so he didn’t train yesterday but he is on the pitch today so he should be OK and also Feghouli missed training yesterday because of some minor problems with achilles but I am very optimistic that all of them are going to be fit for the game on Saturday”.

I can understand it if the owners put the cheque book away after last week. Maybe, just maybe he will be ok. And Jan is a bad time to buy players, agreed. And we have opened up a gap over the bottom three.

I think this shows what a gamble that would be. The squad is thin if you leave out the deadwood. It’s looking as if Kouyate cold be away for a while yet. I watched a couple of the Africa Cup games and the pitches are diabolical, with players going down injured all over the show. So we know where that will end for him & Ayew. A couple more injuries & we would be back in the mire.

He’s probably had a call from some dodgy ambulance chasing company asking if he wants to make a claim.

You aint wrong about the pitches at the AFCON.They are playing on ploughed fields. There could be a few Prem teams ending up with their african boys injured if the pitches are all the same as i have seen.

Thought it was about time he returned to the treatment table, will this be yet another injury problem that happens just when you think he might complete more than handful of games.

In my opinion he is too fragile, should be looking to move him on while he attract a decent fee and get someone less injury prone. Mind you that would cost real money, something our owners don’t do.

He is ment to be good to go this weekend no??
I thought this injury was all something and nothing.A stiff neck when all said & done.

you really couldn’t make it up, only Andy Caroll. in all the years I have been watching & following football I have never heard of a player suffering whiplash after scoring a goal
