Andy Carroll has been offered a move to Iran!

The Daily Mail reports that Tractor SC have made a move to try to sign the ex-Hammer as he seeks a new club.

There have been reports suggesting that he is closing in a move to Championship club Reading but it appears the Iranian club have made a move to try to gazump the Championship outfit.

Carroll is said to have rejected the chance to move to Iran but a one-year deal was offered worth £20,000-per-week.

The ex-England striker has been without a club since leaving West Brom at the end of last season.

Tractor SC have previously had the Irish journeyman Anthony Stokes on their books, while former Wales boss John Toshack also took charge of the club for a short period of time.

Carroll, though, does not appear to be heading over to the Middle East just yet. We’re sure the physios are delighted!
