Antonio explains the priority

michail-antonio-west-ham-stoke_3387473Michail Antonio has told the team to put Sunday behind them and retain their focus at Fortress Boleyn.

But for Dimitri Payet’s arrival the £7m signing from Nottingham Forest would have outstanding claims as Hammer of the Year and is now a big dressing room voice.

Speaking to the official site he explained the team’s priorities over the rest of the season starting at against Watford tomorrow evening.

He said: “We were trying to be tight at the back. We have just got to look forward now and try and forget this game.

“We have still got everything to play for. The Boleyn Ground has been a fortress for us this season and we have only lost once in the FA Cup since August so hopefully we can keep going and pushing on.”

Having played in the midlands, Antonio knows what it would mean for Leicester to win the Premier League this season, and reckons it would be great for the whole league if a team outside the top six could win the top flight.

He said: “I wish Leicester good luck for the rest of the season and I hope they can do it. It will be good for the Premier League if they can do it and it gives everyone a boost for next season that any team can win it.”
