Antonio/Hugill look set for Brighton

|

Michail Antonio looks certain to be involved in the Hammers squad for the match at Brighton tomorrow (Sat).

And new boy Jordan Hugill could make his first appearance in claret and blue on the south coast following his £10 million move to the club from Preston North End.

Antonio was left out of the squad against Crystal Palace because of disciplinary reasons having been late for training and on the day of the  match against Palace apparently arriving after believing he needed to report to the ground instead.

He has also been fined two weeks wages also but all is at peace between him and the manager and he looks likely to be involved either wide right either from the start or at some point during the 90 minutes.

The manager may not be ready to break up the Joao Mario/Chicharito partnership which showed  promise during the game against the Eagles.

Sam Byram could be the victim of an Antonio inclusion whilst fit again Jose Fonte perhaps being included from the start t the expense of Declan Rice.

According to physioroom there is some welcome good news on injuries. They reckon we now have ‘only’ six out . Also they have revised Arnie’s return date from 24th to 10th. Opinions differ about how accurate their info is but my impression is they are not bad, bearing in mind that estimating return dates is a bit like predicting the weather a month in advance Let’s hope we can manage a month with few injuries & get ourselves some points. My nerves can do without a relegation battle but it is looking tight at the moment,

I’m excited for the game, now the angst of the transfer window is behind us. I have no doubt that Hugill will give his all and, I think, be a success for us. Antonio being back is a huge boost, and with Joao Mario looking a class act, and a resurgent Noble and Kouyate, I think we have a strong side.

    Adrian
    Fonte, Collins, Ogbonna
    Zabaleta, Kouyate, Noble, Cresswell
    Antonio, Mario
    Hernandez

Hugill on after 70 mins, with Byram, Rice and Cullen waiting in the wings!

    Yummy… 🙂

+1 agree I would stick w mostly same team at Palace. If Antonio is ready to start play him if not use him as sub & agree think Hugill should be used as sub like to see how him & Chic do together they could complement each other well.

But I stick w Rice Fonte as been out for a while tho some say was at fault for goal he didn’t have anyone backing him up Oggy at fault too.
And Kouyate looked good further fwd & Zab as CDM did very well & Byram pace was good.
Hopefully we will press some but I would stick w same same team maybe start Antonio

Cresswell at fault too. Pushed too far, too soon and left acres of space for Townsend to run into and making everybody else have to shuffle across. Just see the look Noble gives him.

Cresswell is always doing it mooro ! He’s a poor defender ! Moyes will replace him if given the job full time IMO ! 😉
