Arnautovic’s vile comment should ensure no Irons return

|

Anybody who believes that Marko Arnautovic is the answer to West Ham’s strike issues is living in a different world known only to him or her!

Nobody doubts his ability in front of goal but his latest outburst at the Euros, for which he quickly apologised under the threat of possibly being kicked out of them, was about as racist and unpleasant as it gets

It’s precisely the kind of remark one would expect to hear from a cheap yobbo/chav in the boozer after sinking his 11th pint of the night.

Age and the fact that he has been playing in an inferior league for a couple of years or so since walking out on a new West Ham deal is one thing but it’s always been the attitude that bothers me.

It’s all well and good for players to say the dressing room was fine when he was around – that’s no more than you would expect to hear from them as part of the ‘Players Union.’.

But he has shown us exactly what type of guy his is with this remark and at a time when racism is so high profile he is not wanted at West Ham as far as I’m concerned.

Nor can I imagine he would be wanted back by the likes of Issa Diop, Oggy, Ben Johnson, Arthur Masuaku,  Michail Antonio and others through the club after his vile comment.

Hope he’s kicked out of the Euros.

We don’t need him and most importantly we don’t accept any such behaviour within West Ham from any Employee no matter who they are. We’re working hard and well on track to achieving the success that we know the club is more than capable of. When we make an Iron, there’s always the unwanted imperfections that are removed and disgarded, I think they call it “slag”, an evil word when used in a different context, though maybe it’s apt in this instance.

Good day. Thank you for this article and the warning about Arnie.
May this truly shut up the comments … supposedly made by our skipper and manager … about how wonderful Arnie is.
We must never forget his attitude towards West Ham, and the way he financially milked the club. And esp his purposeful below-par performances before he left for the gold in China. As well as his greedy brother’s attitude.
Let’s go forward, West Ham with a clear vision to build die-hard Hammers players.
    Coyi. God bless West Ham.

Those players got some kind of Albanian heritage then?

  • The Cat says:

Whilst Arnautovic was at West Ham the signs were already there that he was a wrong ‘un.
He turned the whole Stoke thing wildly out of proportion and to be honest, he disrespected that club’s supporters with his actions. He clearly isn’t a man of dignity and didn’t carry himself well at all.
As supporters we are fine-tuned to players and their genuine love for the club, mood and state of mind when on the pitch and even when he scored for us (which is what he is meant to do as a striker), he seemed to want us as supporters to worship at his feet, instead off celebrating with us. Former teammate Peter Crouch said that Arnautovic was the first player he had heard say that it was his dream to play in China?…….. It was ALWAYS about the money.
Arnautovic has a Vile personality trait and seems to need constant conflict to generate the drive to play football at this level. I pray that we never see him at this club again, because we don’t need that type of personality within our harmonious squad.

HEAR HEAR! 👏🏽…. hit the nail on the head mate. The guy and his brother are poisonous.

      • GaryD says:

Might be better if Arnie was hit on the head with a nail. Or maybe he was, and that is the explanation?

A great little piece, Hugh, thank you for sticking your head above the parapet and saying what needs to be said.

I’m sure this site gets thousands of visitors and that means you have a greater platform than most of us to express certain views and to open up channels of communication. The more that online platforms are used to express indignation and disgust over racist comments, the more the morons who just don’t get it might start to realise how poisonous their thoughts and opinions are and maybe, just maybe, start to use their brains a little more.

    Good man

Did you hear the comment, did you hear the discussion, again ridiculous assumptions made here, has he been reported for it, absolutely no. I am not sure if you have been looking at social media and fans comments but by far the biggest majority of fans on social media want him back, the players want him back, the coaching staff want him back and most importantly the manager wants him back, so are you saying the manager is living in a different world !! A strange article for me based on the what is being said on social media.

    • sOCIAL MEDIA? Should I write what some of those are saying given what the geezer said. Think not

    • mooro66uk says:

Well that comment didn’t wear well Johnham. YES, he has been reported for it and has been banned for the next game. You’re the only one on this thread that wants him back so don’t really know where the vast majority comes from. Which players want him back? hane’nt seen anyone comment on him other than Noble. When did the coaching staff announce they wanted him back? When did Moyes announce he wanted him back?

lets see UEFA make a positive stand and really punish this bloke… especially with all the anti racism and anti bullying… I lost all respec when he was given that huge bumper deal with West Ham and then only for his brother to shortly start on one saying he was under valued and deserved more – actually meant wants more money and not fussed where he played to get it//

Hi Hugh. You appear to be responding to a comment that was never posted. Regardless, this is the best WHU site.

Said it before. Worth repeating. He is not the Messiah. He’s a very silly boy.
Long may he find employment elsewhere.

  • Dumbass says:

What did he say and why is it not mentioned what he said in the article?
Apologies if I’ve missed something obvious lol.

  • Mark says:

I definitely wouldn’t want him back at West Ham, not after the dramas he caused getting his move to China. As for the media saying it was a racist comment, was it? Uefa doesn’t seem to think so, it was an ugly insult. But people trying to make it racist, are wide of the mark in my opinion. He’s been given a 1 match ban for insulting another player. Let’s move on as most decent West Ham fans, want nothing more to do with this player.
