Arthur finds belief is the key

|

To say that Arthur Masuaku is happy to see David Moyes back as manager would be a big understatement.

The left back/left sided midfielder appears to have found a boss who believes in him entirely and is ready to give all he has encouraged by the straightforward approach from the 56 year old.

It was Moyes who decided that he would use the player as an attacking midfielder and like Marko Arnautovic -who became a potent striker under him first time that worked in a big way.

Masuaku looks unlikely to be involved tomorrow as he is struggling with an injury but there’s no doubt that he’s now a player who is likely to feature regularly when fully fit.

He is featured on the front of tomorrow’s match day programme and in an interview with the official site put his views about the manager very much on the record.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/january/17-january/arthur-masuaku-david-moyes-knows-what-im-capable he said: “Really, he is a positive guy and when you play for a manager like this, it’s really good because you want to give everything for him, for the team and for the fans.

“I like him as a person, he is a very good manager, he is honest and he tells the truth and when you’re a player, that’s always nice. I was disappointed when he left in 2018 because he liked the way I was playing. I was quite sad when he left, to be honest.

“If I speak for myself, the manager knows me because he was here before, so he knows what I’m capable of and he wants me to use my quality. He wants me to go forward because he knows I like going forward and I like this so, for me, it’s very good.

“I think he’s the manager we needed. He has been here before, so he knows the Club and he knows a lot of us. Hopefully we can keep going like we did in the last home game against Bournemouth.”
