Arthur lets cat out of bag while boss stays tight-lipped

|

Oh dear – here is David Moyes trying to keep injuries and team selections the big secret and one of his own players lets the cat out of the bag that he won’t be available tomorrow for the Leeds game.

Arthur Masuaku broke new of his surgery – accompanied with a photo – on his personal Instagram page before it was rapidly taken down ahead of the Moyes press conference.

Thinking all was well, the manager told us via his presser – perhaps through gritted teeth – what we already knew, that Mikey Antonio was unlikely to be playing. Thanks for that .

Then he went on about Fredericks being on his way back and said absolutely nothing about the Arthur injury.

We understand why but in a social media age with stuff escaping onto the various outlets it’s pretty obvious that it’s going to break somewhere. That it should be one of the players who did is a tad ironic and amusing.

Maybe with so many leaky areas to block it might just be a better idea to explain what’s happened.

One assumes had Marcelo Bielsa been manager he would simply have told all given his activities of yesterday when naming his team two days ahead of the match

Will Bielsa lose his job having deliberately told lies if he makes a major U turn on his team selection? Will we be happier if David Moyes were to spin us a yarn by announcing his team too early?
Yes – oops Arthur, but hardly a ‘mistake’ that makes him a bad man. He’ll be back and what will be, will be against Leeds United.

We have all been speculating about Said but I had no idea that Arthur was going for surgery. I still want to see 5 at the back and Said in for Pablo. Diop is ready, Johnson is ready. Play Issa and move Cress to wingback, or keep Cress inside and play Johnson. I don’t want to see a one-off bodge for Leeds, as Arthur will be out a while.
