Ashton tips AC for World cup squad spot

|

AshtonDean Ashton has tipped Andy Carroll to make it into the England squad for the summer World Cup.

Ashton – talking to the official site – is sure the big No 9 can force his way into manager Roy Hodgson’s plans declaring: “He’s different to everyone else and that’s what he’s got in his favour. He’s unplayable at times.”

Adding that he would hate to play against the Geordie Boy as a centre half, Dean added: “He’s 6’5” but he’s got a great leap as well and he’s competitive.

“I’d hate to play against him  and I know centre-halves hate playing against him.”

Commenting on the hugely controversial red card handed out by Howard webb the former Hammers star said: “I’m gutted for him because, after coming back from a long injury, all you want to do is play.

“I’m sure he’ll be champing at the bit when he does get back. I’m pretty sure, if he can put a run of games together, he can get in the England squad.”
