West Ham United have officially unveiled the Club’s official Umbro 2016/17 Away kit this morning.

As West Ham United prepare for a historic new era at their magnificent new Stadium on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Club have unveiled the kit they will be wearing on their travels next season.

Signalling West Ham’s bright future, the kit is emblazoned with the Club’s new crest for the first time since its reveal in 2014 and incorporates the coordinates of the Hammers stunning new home on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, The London Stadium: 51.5386° N, 0.0165° W.

The colours of the 2016/17 away shirt will remind some fans of West Ham’s 1980 FA Cup final victory, and best ever top-flight season in 1986, with a lightweight white shirt and sky blue and claret collar trim.

For an iconic finishing touch, the new shirt also includes the Union Flag on the sleeves and the back of the neck, a nod to West Ham’s Thames Ironworks origins and a symbol of West Ham’s pride to be playing at the Stadium that hosted the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Fans will get first sight of the team in action wearing the brand new kit during West Ham’s upcoming pre-season tour of the United States, with friendly fixtures scheduled against MLS giants Seattle Sounders on 5 July, and NASL side Carolina RailHawks, on 12 July.

The kit is available today to pre-order, and will go on sale at West Ham’s stunning new Stadium Store on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which opens its doors for the first time at 9.30am on Thursday 23rd June, with a Club Captain Mark Noble on hand to cut the ribbon.

As well as neat design intricacies, Umbro has produced a technical shirt which incorporates body mapping, using a mesh back panel for maximum ventilation in one of the key temperature zones for players.

Speaking of the new kit the Noble said: “We put on some great performances away from home last season with historic wins against Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and we hope we can do that again next season – in this shirt!

“It’s a nice looking kit and like last year’s Umbro it’s a good wear too, it fits well and you can move about and keep cool. I can’t wait to get out to the USA with the lads and play our first game in it against the Seattle Sounders. A great way to start another historic season for me and the Club.”

The new shirt will be worn with sky blue shorts – also with the new claret crest – and white socks with a claret and blue band around the shin.

West Ham United’s 2016/17 Away Kit is available in men’s, women’s, juniors, infants and baby sizes.
