Beating Leicester would be so very West Ham

It’s truly hard to see anything but defeat on the horizon this evening although it would be so West Ham were we to record our first London Stadium victory since  September.

At least history is on our side with just the one defeat in the last ten meetings at Premier League level and four of those unbeaten at home against the Foxes

Crumbs of comfort are hard to find but that Leicester are currently in a poor run of form since the season started and changes are on the cards could help.

But the reality is we make our way to the stadium heavy footed and deeply anxious with the managerial situation probably overshadowing the game itself.

So many players are out of form at the same time that Pellegrini’s enforced changes because of game weariness may be for the best with perhaps the likes of Diop, Masuaku, Lanzini and Anderson coming in and proving a point.

Skipper Mark Noble and Robert Snodgrass have to be doubts and in that case Fornals may adopt a more defensive midfield role making room for the likes of Anderson or Lanzini.

Huge decisions for the manager ahead of one of the most critical games of his entire career. We go into  the game with hope, optimism and anxiety.

I’m gonna set my mood for the day right now and go for a 1-0 home win because it would be so very West Ham.

Losing 4-0 would also be ‘so very West Ham’ … unfortunately. Nevertheless, COYI. Only 21 points to go.

It would be West Ham , I don’t want to say it but I think we will get stuffed by 3 or 4 . We are playing so badly I can’t see us putting in the effort needed unfortunately.

Quite funny – a defence like ours keeping a clean sheet against Leicester, lol.
    1-4

I would agree 99% of the time but not today, there are some deep rooted problems that have affected the bond with the players and the manager has not got the ability to rectify the unity with them.
Hope I’m wrong but even if the manager makes lots of changes still won’t help.

With that one paragraph you sum up everything hugh..

Never thought i would say this, but a win against Leicester is probably the worst thing that could happen to us today. It would again for a few days mask over the huge problems under Pellegrini. He is not the right man to get this team playing well on a CONSISTENT basis and this is a mess the board have created by not sacking him especially with a very important transfer window on the horizon.

I totally agree with you 64 I’ve supported West ham for 43 years and never once do I hope we lose but it’s got the stage now that the longer this bloke I s our manager the more damage is being done..so we will get strung up by Hugh but I totally agree that a loss would actually help .that’s if they do sack him because to be quite honest I can’t believe anything that comes out of the club at the min because apparently if we lost against palace he was sposed to go ..so who knows it’s a total shambles at West ham at the min

Sorry Hugh , but you are mistaken . It is not a lot of players being out of form …
It is Pelligrini that has turned good players into poor ones . I was really hoping to see an interim manager today . Pelligrini has not the slightest idea of how to motivate players and it’s high time he was ousted . I would love to see West Ham win today , of course and natural .
But if losing means sacking Pelligrini then that is also fine by me . Good players don’t suddenly turn into bad ones . It’s taking too long to get rid of him . Slow decision making and money is at the route of everything . We thought we had a manager to take us forward but the result is we have employed a failure . The players are not reacting to him and are being ridiculed for his nonsense . Noble only reacted to frustration after so many years of trying so hard , but Pelligrini has let him and everyone else down so completely .
Bring back Moyes or do something positive because now it is hospital time for West Ham United . Win or lose today Pelligrini needs to go .. End of .

Please don’t tell me anymore. , nobody , that Howe would be good for West Ham . Surely nonsense to even consider him after today . Let’s get real please !! . Brighton 2 0 Bournemouth . Not exactly the kind of manager we need is it !,.. tired of listening to all the silly pundits and others … daft idea that he fits West Ham United .
