“Benitez ready for PL return”

|

The Liverpool manager, Rafa BenitezPepe Reina – a personal friend of Rafa Benitez – reckons the Spanish boss is ready for a Premier League return this this summer.

The former Kop boss is believed to be under some pressure at Napoli who are in fifth spot and five points behind the Champions League places after one win in six Serie A games.

The Europa League is still a realistic trophy target but Benitez’ side face favourites Wolfsburg in the quarter-finals and defeat there would leave his relationship with the club on the rocks.

With West Ham,  looking for a new manager in the summer in England, a Premier League could be on although Newcastle are also interested.

And former Anfield keeper Reina reckons Benitez would jump at the chance to come back to these shores.

He told talkSPORT “His idea is to be with his family and his family are in Liverpool right now and very happy so, if he gets the chance [to return to the Premier League], why not?”

“He is happy at Napoli right now but family always comes first and it is a decision they have to make.

“As far as I know, he is happy in Napoli but is looking forward to coming back to England.”

Sam is great ONLY for the team that wants to stay in epl nothing else. I never thought we should aim that low we’re a London team at top 6,8 is minimum and good cup run which Sam didn’t make his priority ever! BFS OUT!

I’d love Rafa Benitez at West Ham but lets’s be realistic – or another way of looking at it ‘boring’ – can West Ham provide him with the package he would want?

Can we provide the Financial backing that he would demand for the re-building of the team that he would want to do?

I’d love to say that West Ham could give him what he would demand but my head says ‘no chance!’

Benitez is a good manager but his teams have been built with a lot of money and I don’t think we are the right squad. Anyway he would not be my first choice, my dream is Klopp.
