Reid misses New Zealand clash.

winston-reid-west-ham-united_3009997Winston Reid will miss his country’s international game as his  hamstring injury is not fully healed. However, the centre-back could return for the Hammers next game against next weekend.

David Gold had suggested to ClaretandHugh yesterday that the club’s priority was to get the defender fit for the match against next weekend but that it would be for the him to make the final decision.

It has now transpired there’s still some soreness in the hamstring and Winston has decided to err on the side of caution and stay atn home.

Kiwi coach Anthony Hudson said: “We gave Winston until the very last moment to see if he would be able to be part of the camp here in Seoul.

” West Ham have been very co-operative and we had the chance to bring Winston out here to be part of the camp off the field, which we decided against.”
