Benrahma update

|

The Said Benrahma deal has neither collapsed or succeeded as things stand this morning!

Reports of it being a done deal with a signing edging closer are premature according to a club source saying who says talks are not as advanced as some reports claim.

Reports of a collapse are also premature with the same club source insisting talks are ongoing with the club remaining optimistic a deal could be achieved by the end of the week when the domestic window closes.

While the two clubs are thought to have agreed on a fee which with add-ons could reach £30m the player is yet to agree on personal terms.

The 25-year-old winger is away on international duty with Algeria in Holland and due to play Mexico tonight.

Behrahma remains in dispute with Brentford according to sources at the Championship club – a situation which is entirely outside of West Ham’s control

This dispute will need to be resolved if the deal is to happen but revealing details of the problem would be entirely unhelpful in an active transfer deal.

I have a feeling this one will go through and the Josh King one will drop out, to be honest I don’t blame King for the salary hike, it will be effectively his last big transfer and if he waits until the end of the season he can go on a free and get the big wages.

“We tried” Grady money will not be spent. GSB will be that little bit richer.

I now have a better undrstanding of why deals wait until the last day – brinkmanship

SO Benrhama wants his 15% loyalty bonus from Brentford – they say no but come Friday afternoon may realise that they need to sell him and may relent or renegotiate to 10%

King wants 130,000 a week – but then there are no takers and as a season in the championship beckons on Friday he relents and accepts 90,000

So it means that teh wait and the soap opera goes on for us fans – in this case it seems that WHU are not to blame for either delay

  • Ryan Smith says:

No chance we will get either. I’ve seen this way to many times at our club.
Gold and Sullivan tried but somehow we just missed out at the last moment. Haha shock me, these guys take us for fools. Like said in earlier comments, little more money in the back pocket for Gold and Sullivan.

    • I have my own issues with the ownership like you Ryan but this seriously is a Brentford thing

      • james says:

I agree with Ryan, if they really want him they could get him. If the only thing holding up a deal is the players loyalty bonus. Just agree to pay it for him. Normally circumstanced i would say not to do this, but as the club left it last min, and he’s the only real quality available. They have no choice, or risk missing out.

Get business done earlier, or pay the prise of poor recruitment policy.

Ryan. The Davids are not running this club to make all of our dreams come true. Give them a break and wait and see what happens on the pitch. Last two PL games have been sublime with results and performance. This didn’t happen by chance. This took a monumental investment in time and effort and cash was incidental in the day to day running.
OK – so your not shocked. Just as well. Take a breath.

For the first time I have at least some understanding of what is going on and agree that in this instance it is not the owners – the earlier questions over the owners remain relevant i.e. I believe that it was a mistake to sell Grady Diang who seems to have come on leaps and bounds in the past season – but whatever happens we wont be the only club still dealing on the last day – and if we do get beaten to one of the deals we have to wait and see how it turns out – like when Palace beat us to the signing of Christian Benteke

  • Hollywood Hammer says:

It’s funny how everyone keeps assuming this and that, when Benarhana has been gone on international duty fior over a week now and cannot do anything until He returns on Wednesday..Maybe everyone has his phone number and gives him a call inbetween his games.lol I seriously don’t think Palace will get him with so little time left.Brentford have accepted our offer and now it’s up to personal terms and a medical.

I really dont get why we’re going for a player that doesn’t fit the managers style of play.

    Or do I

We had tricks and flicks galore
They dont get a look in anymore
Since they’re gone we start to score
    Banrahma will be poor

  • Far West Hammer says:

I hope this transfer doesn’t go through unless it is Moyes’ idea and he plans to change tactics to accommodate a creative player who won’t be needed to defend. Otherwise, this is going to be a disaster.

  • Trevor says:

Absolute rubbish that Benrahma is not a moyes kind of player. He gets lots of goals and makes lots of assists, what’s not to like? Moyes may not be over keen on players who contribute nothing to the game like Anderson, but Benrahma is not in that category is he. At least not in the championship. It’s true he hasn’t been tested at premier league level but who knows maybe the big stage will drive him on to an even higher level. It’s a shame really because if he does really well for us In the premier league It’s probably only a matter of time until a club like Man City Come after him.

    • Don’t know – he’s been big for one season in championship = who knows? And how do you know it’s rubbish.? One season in championship 30 million seems a gamble to me
