Big changes on cards for FA Cup clash

|

quinaDavid Moyes is ready to throw some youngsters into the action when the Hammers take on Shrewsbury Town in the Third Round of the FA Cup tomorrow (Sun).

A report on the official website says the manager has confirmed  Joe Hart will start in goal, while young professionals Sead Haksabanovic, Domingos Quina and Toni Martinez could also be involved.

It adds there is also the possibility that Reece Oxford, Josh Cullen and Reece Burke could travel.

He is directly quoted as saying: “I’d like to say we won’t make a lot of changes on Sunday, because I try to be consistent.

But the bigger problem is the number of players we have available and the fatigue due to the amount of effort they’re putting into the games for us just now.

Plus, we’ve got injuries, but if I have my way I’ll put out as strong a team as I possibly can.

“Joe will play on Sunday, but Joe will play a lot of Premier League games this season as well. I’m sure he’s not overly happy with the current situation, but he’s a top professional and I’m sure he’s had an understudy to him for 90 per cent of his career and I think he’s acting in a really good manner.

“He has been really professional and, as I’ve said, I’m in no doubt that Joe Hart will play games between now and the end of the season.

“Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup tie is really important, but not as important as being a Premier League club next season.”

Reece Burke? I thought he was still on loan. When did that end?

  • jaybs says:

Loan period was only five months, it is time to start brining Reece through now, reports from mates at Bolton say he has been playing well, this morning some papers are saying that five Championship clubs want him on loan, we need to start bringing younger players through like Rice, if your good enough age does not matter,

Keep seeing people calling for the kids to get a run out. Agree if it’s 2/3. Shrews are unbeaten in seven and flying high in div one. I don’t think we should underestimate them. Put some more young uns as subs and bring them on if we are comfortable. Don’t forget last time our manager played too many kids in one go. COYI.

Moysie stating Hart will play plenty of games between now and the end of the season… he must be expecting a long Cup
run then cos Hart ain’t ousting Adrian for quids.

I hope he does give some of the kids a run out, mostly I hope he gives Zaba a well deserved rest, the amount he has played you have to start worrying about an injury and that is one position we can’t afford it.
