Big fall in fan numbers for Silkeborg clash

|

CandH Exclusive by Hughie Southon

West Ham will be faced with a near half empty stadium when Silkeborg visit for the Conference clash tomorrow evening.

Having attracted a crowd of around 45,000 for the last home against Anderlecht the club expect the numbers to be down to 35,000 for the clash with the Danes.

The match is clearly being seen as a little meaningless but in reality, it is a game that still matters very much if we are to avoid the round of 32.

A source has this afternoon told Claret and Hugh: “It’s a big shame as we still need a draw to win the group and avoid an extra round. The fans see it as a meaningless game, but it that’s not the case at all.”

David Moyes will need to put out a strong side against Silkeborg who have been very much in form this season despite losing their last game and hopefully a few thousand more fans will take up the option before kick-off.

Not really surprised when many have a lot of travelling after 10pm especially if they have to work next morning. WH should run a Carpooling,. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you’ve bought a ticket and can’t be bothered to go as you see it as a “meaningless game” you’re not really a fan are you? The players want, need & deserve a full stadium

Two reasons if crowd is down one obviously the cost of living under this tory mob, second is the boring way moyes coaches this good bunch of talented players. Sooner the penny drops to the board the Sooner we can get in a attacking coach and watch good football win lose or draw .

I sincerely hope that as many supporters that can attend do so.
Although, with the cost of living crisis raging itโ€™s perhaps understandable that many people are cutting back on discretionary spending!

100% and l would also add that you will be less inclined to go to a match when you know that the team will not be set up to be entertaining. Let’s face it alot of our games fulham, Bournemouth and wolves were dire performances and not very enjoyabke all down to mr moyes,
