Former Irons manager Sam Allardyce gave his press conference ahead of tonight’s game against us and took credit for the fact that we are still in the Premier League.
Talking to reporters he said: “We have to start by not conceding two goals at West Ham,”
“If we have to score three – we have now only done it two times this season and the third time we didn’t win. We have got to make sure we don’t give goals away.
“We cannot give West Ham the goals we gave Wolves. If they score a fantastic goal then you can hold your hands up, but we can’t keep gifting goals away.”
Allardyce said: “Snodders! Considering he hasn’t played a lot, we thought we would have to look at taking him off after 70 minutes but, in all fairness, he is so fit the lad.
“He’s got so much energy he didn’t look that tired so we left him on and he did the job. He brings huge experience to the team and if we can add to that with experience and quality then hopefully that will make us better.
On his return to West Ham Allardyce after taking on the Albion relegation fight following Slaven Bilic’s sacking he said “I had four good years there. I took over in the first year and took them up and went on to have three fantastic years in the Premier League there.
It’s nice to see them maintain that position and try and improve year in, year out. That was a job well done. Going back can only be a joy for me if we get a result.”
One notable injury is Grady Diangana who missed Saturday’s game is yet another former Iron in Grady Diangana.
Still can’t work out why we didn’t release Snodgrass after this game if we knew he was joining them.
We do like to open ourselves up to create our own negative headlines.
Let’s hope he has a stinker tonight…
