Big Sam’s ironic advice

|

Former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce obviously hasn’t lost his sense of humour as he dished out advice on Talksport radio telling listeners that Granit Xhaka shouldn’t be gesticulating to supporters.

Big Sam told Laura Woods “Gesticulating to the fans is the one thing you cannot do! It’s irresponsible. To be forgiven after that is a very difficult task, it’s the last thing you want to happen when you trying to win football matches and the keep the fans entertained and try to move the club forward.”

The irony wasn’t lost on West Ham fans who remember Big Sam gesticulating to them after a 2-1 win against ten men Hull City in 2014 at the Boleyn Ground.

The former Hammers manager once cupped his hand to ear at the Boleyn Ground as fans booed him responding to the style of play. It appears that the 65-year-old is happy to give out advice which he failed to follow himself. The incident was the beginning of the end for the manager for many supporters.

Thanks Sean – so nice to see that picture of him again … and remember the personal shame he suffered from his greed after one game in charge of England (yes, it wasn’t a dream – he WAS England’s manager).
