Bilic and squad Payet fury puts pressure on board

|

Slaven-BilicSlaven Bilic and the West Ham squad have become Dimitri Payet’s best hope of an early escape route out of the club.

The manager’s anger with the player is such that he is insisting behind the scenes that the sooner the 29 year old is sold the better.

And the squad too are furiously angry that after being treated like football royalty he has kicked everybody in the teeth.

All of that is understandable but it is not making getting the right money for the player any easier – with Marseilles also aware of the growing fury at Payet and the enthusiasm to get rid of him.

The attitude of the squad and boss is putting pressure on the board who, after insisting the player isn’t for sale, know that they must get rid as soon as possible to reduce the ill will and tension among some of the other players.

They continue to hope another club will come in for him thus putting Marseilles under real pressure to hike up their offers.

We were told: “There is real unhappiness with the player and everybody wants him gone but we know his worth and that makes it a difficult balancing act.”

This whole thing stinks of brinkmanship, Marseille are claiming it will be ‘difficult’ to sign him. If they ‘have’ actually offered £26m and that’s not paper talk and we want a minimum £30m, they are now owned by a billionaire, so the difference is chicken feed to him. They are wanting to get a moral victory by getting him on the cheap.

We must stick by our guns if only for the principle of not letting disloyalty pay.

Hold onto him until the summer don’t let him train with any of the squads, ruin his chances of being in the national team until next season. Unless of course someone pays the going rate, it is a no lose gamble everyone has seen what he can do on the pitch so money will come in for him if not in this window in the summer.

100% agree only person who will lose is payet cost us what 10mil plus wages we will certainly at leased get the money back so really we cannot lose though if someone was to come in for him at the asking price then go for it. West Ham need to show the footballing world we will not stand for any more player power in that regards.
it will certainly send a message

    Hold your nerve!!!!

Bilic needs to pull himself together, as do a lot of the supporters.

Getting rid ASAP will only play into Payet’s hands.

  • Nocturnal64 says:

Think it would be better to sell him asap for as close to the £30 million but with a resell clause so that WHU are not being short changed by this duplicitous backstabber
