Bilic: I see no lack of effort – the players want it”

|

Slaven-Bilic (1)West Ham United’s board are tonight again being reported as being  behind manager Slaven Bilic despite heavy speculation still linking him with the axe.

ClaretandHugh reported several days ago that the board intended to stick with the Croat until the end of the season and now the London Evening is saying the same.

The Standard reports: “It is believed the board feel that Bilic deserves to stay at least until the end of this season and a judgment made then, rather than after just seven Premier League games.”

And despite reports that the players are looking lethargic and may be sort on enthusiasm Bilic declared: “I don’t see a lack of effort.
“I see they want to do it, not just now but after the first three games when we had zero points, I didn’t see a lack of discipline in the camp. On the contrary, I saw that we want to do it all together.

“Are they doing it for the manager or themselves? At the end of the day that is not important but they did it. You can talk about the quality of our performance against Swansea but we won the game because we didn’t give up.

“When I was a player I was in worse situations than this – in my second season at West Ham under Harry Redknapp [when the club narrowly avoided relegation]. I wanted to do it for myself but I also wanted to do it for Harry. What matters are the players here want to do it.”

Very disappointed that the Board might let this drag on until the end of the season. This is misplaced loyalty.
I won’t bother to come if I see another performance like last Saturday.
Zabaleta apart, the starting line up did not look interested in playing for each other, let alone the supporters.
