Bilic signs Belic

|

imagecropWest Ham have agreed a deal to sign highly rated Serbian forward Luka Belic on a free transfer, according to ESPN.  19 year old Belic is a free agent after completing his contract at OFK Belgrade earlier this summer.

The forward was the youngest player ever to make his debut in the Serbian Premier League at the age of 16 in 2012 and is regarded as one of the best prospects in Serbia after catching the eye for club and country in the last 18 months.

Belic has played for Serbia at under-17 and U19 level and is tipped to make the step-up to the senior team in the near future. A number of clubs across Europe are claimed to have been keeping tabs on him, but  ESPN  say that West Ham persuaded him to move to the Boleyn Ground.

Belic holds a Belgian passport so will not require a work permit to make the move to the East End and he is likely to the Hammers Academy before trying to break into Slaven Bilic’s first-team plans.

Not the most impressive showreel, quite a short player with a good first touch and awareness of what the options are around him by the look of that. The main thing standing out for me was the music on that video is atrocious not sure how to describe it techno-gabba maybe ?

Another claretandpube tit – “techno-gabba”!?”! you’re embarrassing yourself, you obviously don’t know that Shotgun Start are from Chicago and are an electronic house music duo and as for his being short – this video is from when he was 15 – surely you should wait until he’s finished growing before you start making idiotic comments about his height. Mind you should I really be surprised by the comments on this pathetic site?

Didnt think Serbs & Croats liked eachother.Whats Slav doing signing one 😉

  • HamburgHammer says:

Well, the player is 19 now, but still hasn’t grown significantly, he is still pretty lightweight with 70 kg and short at 5 ft 8 inches (or 1.73 metres for us Europeans).
But where does it say a striker needs to have a certain height or weight to make it in football ?

If he’s pacy and knows where the goal is he can still make defenders look silly, no matter how short or light he is.

  • Simply The Best says:

Generally guys stop growing between 18-21,but does that really have any significance as far as his ability to be a striker is concerned.Didnt seem to stop TC from banging them in.

Hugh this irrational half wit is now becoming a mild itch on my back side,
It like having the village idiot sitting next you on a plane and you can’t get off for 24 hours,
Not the most impressive after watching Samulsun at his age or the Womble ( what happened to him )
But more like a young Cottee or Zarate,Defoe was similar in many ways what I do like the look of is he is happy on both feet and runs well off the ball creating space for himself and others, the ones I have mentioned above were not as good at that

  • bubs says:

Shame how are they getting players like him and the Brentwood forward, they must be promising them the Earth,
Barton could not be picky and he comes from the area,
But when you have lived in London or Miltom Keynes,Burnley is a bit of a stretch but I do like Bank of Dave,
