Birthday boy yet to decide on his West Ham future

|

Pablo Zabaleta who turned 34 today has told the Newham Recorder it is too early to decide on his future at the club next season.

I haven’t made any decisions yet, I am enjoying my football, but I will be 34 this week!” Pablo told the Recorder post-match on Saturday.

For me it is about still enjoying it and at the right moment I will sit down with the club and decide what to do next.”

“I am happy at West Ham,” he insisted. “It is a club with such great potential, but at the moment we are in January and it is too early to decide.”

In December he penned an article on WHUFC.comThere was something in the papers saying ‘Zabaleta is thinking about retiring’ and let me tell you that is absolute rubbish! I’m 33 and I’ll be 34 in January but physically I feel very well. I am playing in every game and I hope I can continue like this and be injury free. If I can go for a few more years or at least one more season in the Premier League, this is what I wish because it’s a league I’ve been in for a long time and especially because I am enjoying my time at West Ham.”
