Boss assesses unlucky Wolves

|

David Moyes admits that Wolves were very unlucky against Arsenal in midweek.

The Gunners beat Bruno Lage’s side 2-1, scoring in the last minute as Alexandre Lacazette’s shot was deflected into the goal by goalkeeper Jose Sa.

Wolves have been excellent this season and a win over the Hammers on Sunday would see them leapfrog the Irons into sixth place in the table.

Wolves’ defeat to the Gunners was their second defeat in five games, but Moyes felt that they were unlucky against the Gunners, as they had a big opportunity to make it 2-0 when Raul Jimenez had a clear cut chance to score a header with the score at 1-0 to Wolves.

He told reporters: “I think Wolves are playing very well at the moment, a lot of confidence. They are showing that in how they played against Arsenal. I thought they were very unlucky. They had big chances, the Jimenez header could have made it 2-0.

“Overall Wolves would be pleased with how they did, but Arsenal are a really good side, much better than many people give credit for. Overall it was a really good game and Wolves ended up unlucky not to get something?”
