Bowen faces heartbreak

|

Jarrod Bowen could miss out on the England squad for their upcoming Nations League games and for the World Cup in Qatar, according to Sky Sports.

The news outlet claims that the winger’s poor start to the season has left Gareth Southgate with doubts over including him in both squads.

England are due to play Italy on September 23rd in a rematch of the Euro 2020 final, while they will also play Germany on September 26th.

They are the final games before England head to Qatar and they will face Iran, the USA and Wales in their group.

Bowen was included in the last Nations League selection and played in all four games, although the Three Lions didn’t win any of them, drawing with Germany and Italy and losing and drawing to Hungary.

This season, Bowen has yet to score a goal or provide an assist in the Premier League, although he has been on the scoresheet in the Europa Conference League.

As a result, Sky claims that he is a “long shot” to make the ‘plane to Qatar.
