Break in PL action may help Hammers

|

It was a given that the Premier League would cancel all matches this weekend and with the Queen’s funeral being next weekend we are nearly 100 per cent certain to see matches called off again.

Already the rights and wrongs of calling off the games is being discussed although maybe in West Ham terms – selfish though such a statement sounds in these circumstances – it’s not such a bad thing.

Any break in action will be followed by the international interval and that may well give the chance to Craig Dawson and Lucas Paqueta to get right back up to speed for the Hammers.

Daws was on the bench for the game at Chelsea and the record signing will perhaps be entirely ready to give his best when he will have trained with the squad for a longer period than might have been expected.

The downside is that in a season being interrupted by the World Cup, the fixture build-up for those in Europe will be immense.

A difficult season in the making for us and the other clubs.

Yes it will be difficult as you say Hughie but at least we have the chance to get everyone fit whilst chalking up fewer games. A sad and empty time but so West Ham for the crowd to sing God Save The Queen, I was proud of them all.
