Trevor Sinclair suspended from TalkSPORT after Queen post

|

Trevor Sinclair has been suspended by TalkSPORT after the ex-Hammer posted a controversial tweet about the Queen, as per the Telegraph.

Queen Elizabeth II died earlier this week and the nation has been plunged into a week of mourning.

As a result, all Premier League and Football League fixtures this weekend have been cancelled in a show of respect to the late monarch.

Sinclair posted the following tweet on the social media website: “Racism was outlawed in England in the 60’s & its [sic] been allowed to thrive so why should black & brown mourn!! #queen.”

TalkSPORT have now promised that the ex-Hammer will not be on air for the foreseeable future and that the tweet will be fully investigated.

TalkSPORT has made an attempt to distance itself from the comments, insisting that they do not support his views.

Sinclair’s tweet sparked a hugely angry backlash, with a number of fans insisting that they will boycott the station if he is not sacked.

Sinclair played for West Ham between 1998 and 2003, and also won 12 caps for England throughout his career.
