Massive price drop for Hammers target Toney

Brentford have drastically dropped their price for West Ham transfer target Ivan Toney.

This news comes courtesy of respected journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports for Sky Sports Germany.

It’s an open secret that Toney wishes to leave Brentford at the end of the season, but there have been no takers. This has been largely due to the whopping £70m price tag attached to the player.

West Ham Target Toney as Long-Term Solution Up Front-£40m the right price for overvalued Toney

A massive price drop for Hammers target Ivan Toney should get bidding started

Toney is 28 years of age, so he has no resale value, and of course, he presents a risk due to his recent ban for betting irregularities. Therefore, it would appear that Brentford have reduced their asking price to a more realistic £30-40m.

Plettenberg has confirmed West Ham’s interest in the player, although it is thought Dominic Solanke is the preferred option. Arsenal and Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in the player. However Chelsea will need to sell first with FFP a massive factor.
