Trevor Brooking admits he had the perfect 70th birthday present on Saturday telling CandH : That was perfect – they played really well. It was a great day!
Sir Trev was delighted with what he saw against Manchester United after giving an interview ahead of the game in the stadium.
This morning (Mon) he told us: “It was a perfect day for all of us – especially the fans who have been so patient over the four games.
“I thought there were some outstanding performances on Saturday and it’s great to have a three up front who can really attack teams. Marko through the middle makes such a difference.
“Of course it was always going to take time when you bring nine new players in but now it’s looking really good and I think this season an excellent outcome would be a top half finish.
“Manuel Pellegrini is a very good manager so I’m not overly surprised at how quickly he turned things around.
“We have excellent players and he has discovered the right mix. It’s looking very good indeed.”
Happy 70th Sir Trev, there would still be a place for a player like you were in that team COYI !!!
