Calamity keeper on his way back to Spain

|

West Ham have tonight confirmed that calamity goalkeeper Roberto Jiminez looks set for a loan move back to Spain with Alaves.

Having signed Darren Randolph as the new Number Two to Lukasz Fabianski the club has moved quickly and the Roberto switch looks likely to happen as early as Monday.

A source inside the London Stadium told CandH by e mail: “It’s a good move from all points of view as he needs to play whilst a loan move would allow us to get him into the shop window as he has 18 months left on his contract with us.”

Roberto’s move to the Hammers is one of the most disastrous of recent years with most believing that his form was a major reason behind the club’s shocking run of form under Manuel Pellegrini.

He will likely replace Antonio Sivera at Alaves who is reported to be on his way to Almeria on loan.

Well if we are to add overseas players we do need to offload a few to make the 25 for the list of chosen players home grown and not home grown to submit for the remainder of this season? So Roberto and Yarmolenco look like two Moyes’s is trying to move on ,so I’m hoping he’s got ideas to bring some in ???

Good hope he does well and they want to sign him permanently !

Good riddance let’s hope they sign him permanently at the end of the loan. Moyes’ comments on Randoph’s fitness don’t exactly inspire confidence though “He’s as fit as we can get him. Ideally we’d have waited a week longer, we’re happy to take the risk”. Only West Ham would pay a reported 4 million for a player who is clearly not 100% ahead of a crucial run of games and 1 point above relegation places.. No wonder fans aren’t happy.

Roberto could stop the ball but scared of the scrum during fixed pieces in the EPL. Randolph is a lot smarter and tougher but not as good a stopper. Will not replace Fabianski.

Good luck to Roberto. Let’s hope he gets his career back on track

I think good riddance is a bit harsh. A goalkeeper is always highlighted when a mistake is made by them that leads to a goal, yet we don’t respond the same way when a defender gives the ball away and it leads to an opposition goal. He isn’t the best but i also remember a couple of decent saves he made. Oxford away wasn’t his fault, that was a crap team display. He made great saves against Everton, Palace, Sheffield United. Yeah, he had a couple of pretty bad games but to blame him for defeats is wrong.

Definitely made a scapegoat for other problems and i feel pretty bad for him. Not saying he should be number one but not as bad as made out
