Carroll gives Hammers a helping hand against Villa

|

Andy Carroll gave the Hammers a helping hand when he arrived as a late sub for Newcastle in the 1-1 draw against Villa at St James Park to help keep his former club out outside of the bottom three.

Carroll had only been on the pitch a few minutes before he set up Dwight Gayle for the opening goal but it wasn’t enough to supply the Geordies with a win.

Ahmed Elmohamady’s late header rescued a point for Aston Villa  but it was  Dean Smith’s relegation-threatened side remain in the bottom three.

Villa staged a grandstand finish and looked more than likely to grab a winner but i wasn’t to be although they now stand on the same 27 points as us and Bournemouth  although they are four goals worse off on goal difference than the Hammers with the Chrries two worse off.

Eddie Howe’s team were beaten 1-0 at Molineux but Villa now face Wolves, Liverpool and Manchester United in their next three games.

We cannot keep relying on others .why is it they seem to be more up for the scrap than us ? Character ? Tactics ? Pride ? Who knows – unless our outlook changes we are going down. I exclude certain players – think we all know who they are. Unless and if we become the old West Ham – fight – pride – and dare I say go after the opposition i see not much hope. I feel my club is dying. I hope I am very very wrong. But I’m not sure I am. Please prove me wrong West Ham.
