There was only one substitution for the start of the second half  – James Ward-Prowse came on for Edson Álvarez.

Not that it made any difference…Did the West Ham players listen to a word of what Moyes said at half time?

For just two minutes in , a simple long ball forwards from Chalobah split Emerson and Ogbonna, allowing Madueke to tee up Jackson for the simplest of finishes. Shocking defending, particularly from Emerson who was having a nightmare

Then Emerson was played in by Paqueta. Looked certain to grab a consolation for West Ham, but blazed over from six yards out. Emerson must have wanted the ground to swallow him up

A few minutes later, Ward-Prowse tries to salvage some pride with a trademark free-kick but Petrovic did well to tip it over the bar.

The cameras then panned on an almost empty away section, which pretty much summed the afternoon up.

With an hour gone, a statistic flashed up on the screen ..20 shots on goal from Chelsea !

Then with 20 minutes to go, Moyes did one of his trademark unexplicable substitutions – Ings on for Antonio. Antonio was at least was showing some effort and commitment to the cause.

With the game running down we saw the third change for the Hammers – Aaron Cresswell came on for the sulky Lucas Paquetá

Bowen then got his “hat trick”, the West Ham man couldn’t believe it. This time his shot took a deflection, with Badiashile getting a diversion on Bowen’s effort.

Then if the afternoon could get any worse, it did as Jackson raced through a non existent defence and scored, but the flag is up.  It was a cool finish from the Senegalese forward, and there was the usual far too long VAR check and the goal was given.

West Ham shipping five for the fourth time this season – is the first time they’ve done that since 2001/02.

A dreadful performance from the Irons, which actually now puts us finishing in the top half in some doubt.

The season can’t finish soon enough in my opinion

    Can Moyes just go now.

  • Kare Bryn says:

Is it possible for Sullivan to request the FA that West Ham are exceptionally relegated to Division 1 next season? Neither the team nor the manager are capable of competing in the Premier League or the Championship, and the 60 000 + fanbase really deserves some value for their loyalty! Maybe there could even be a promotion campaign!!!

  • Michael Crofts says:

Passive, gutless and clueless, played like they wanted to get Moyes sacked today.

All the thrashings can’t be solely blamed on Moyes. Once they cross the whitewash the players are then responsible. Either they can’t be arsed or they are not playing for Moyes. The amount of money these Prima Donna’s the least they should be giving 100% for the shirt/fans. That’s the 6th thrashing this season. Something has to give and that should start with Moyes leaving.

Why is it so painful following WHU.No squad depth,no fight,no quality,no hope.Too many bad days.Really fear for next season. We are relegation candidates with current mess.
