Chelsea get message and eye Rice alternative

|

Well finally, at long long last, it seems the message has become clear to Chelsea and the media – Declan is going nowhere this summer and hopefully NEVER!

A new report in the Daily Star is suggesting that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is now looking elsewhere to the London Stadium for a defensive midfielder.

According to them the south west London outfit have lined up an alternative in Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni .

Apparently it seems that Chelsea have accepted that Declan is going to be far too pricey even for their blood assuming that the Hammers would sell anyway which of course they won’t.

Whilst Chelsea were keen on Rice in the Frank Lampard days  it seems the new manager Thomas Tuchel sees the Monaco midfielder as a more realistic option.

With David Moyes insisting the Hammers skip is worth over £100 million and Dec himself making it clear he wants to be around for our Euro challenge this ‘Dec for Chelsea’ story is and always has been nonsense.’

Just need Orville Gummy Sulky-Arse at Man U to get the message now, and we can all have a relaxed summer.

I find all this “we will never sell” Declan posts quite interesting… Do I want him sold, obviously not, but if an offer for 100m came in during these pandemic / economic times… You would be silly not to give a lot of thought about the possibility… My feeling is that Declan will not be sold this Summer, BUT if we do not progress next season ( topn6 again).. He will be allowed to move on… Let’s remember that without doubt its going to be increasingly tough to get a top 6 position… Arsenal have the makings of a much better season with all their young players emerging, Leeds could get better, Villa could definitely improve unless Grealish is sold but then could add to their squad.. Spurs had a terrible season by their standards and only finished 3 pts behind us… Lot depends on new manager and Harry Kane… but if sold would allow them to add to their squad ala Aston Villa.. Food for thought… Next season will be even tougher… Squad has to be improved dramatically to get a top 6 position as we also have European football as well…. Top 8 could be a “successful” season…
