Cressie tells what Moyes has “brought through the door”

|

cresswellCandHAaron Cresswell believes David Moyes has given the squad the self belief to take the game to Chelsea tomorrow (Sat).

And he looks set to use the Manchester City performance as a platform on which to produce another top performance.

Speaking ahead of the game to the official site he said: “The manager [David Moyes] has come in and he’s given us belief and now we just need the points to go with it.

“We played Man City and we took something from the game. Although we got beat, we dug deep and felt we deserved something out of the game. It wasn’t to be, so we’ve got to take on Chelsea now and get some points.

“The manager has instilled a work ethic. When you’re down in the bottom three, you can have the best players in the world, but if you don’t work hard, you certainly won’t win games and he has emphasised that and said ‘If you don’t run, you won’t play’ and the lads have listened and it’s certainly improved us.

“Organisation and running and work ethic are the key to everything and he’s certainly brought that through the door. You’ve got to do the gritty things and you’ve got to do the hard things and we’ve been out there doing that and working on our shape, our set pieces and how we’re going to take the game to Chelsea.

“We’re putting in the work but we haven’t picked up the points yet, so that’s the next thing we need to work on.”

Good advice, I think Chelsea will be an easier game for us than the gooners game, I watched them last night and they were a bit special especially Wilshere who dominated the match and was head and shoulders above everyone else, last night he looked World Class. BAte were wide open to be fair but you still have to create the chances and score them, they look as good as I have seen them since they won the league last although like City defensively there are opportunities to exploit.

+1 on that & like I’ve said before & in summer. Elneny is a good DM too Leicester offered £10m but wanted to stay in London. We could have got him in & he has put in some good shifts. Wilahere did look good & was playing in #10 if can stay for would be an asset to us. Rob Holding I like to at 22yo good CB was great last season for them now doesn’t make bench for PL.

Hard work should be a given. But it seems under Bilic it wasn’t not trying to have a dig at Bilic but it really seems the lil bit we did hear about lack of training with him was just the start.
I really believe had they been decisive & got rid of Bilic last summer winning Spurs game or not we would not be in bottom 3.
It just seems they all got just fine w playing 5 aside in training & if I’m not one of Bilic’s fav I wouldn’t be happy about not playing.
Either way moving in right direction now let’s just hope w everyone coming out & saying stuff like this that they do it on pitch consistently.
