Critical Sakho medical confidence

|

sakho4West Ham are confident that Diafra Sakho will pass a critical medical at Crystal Palace despite him failing one at West Bromwich Albion nearly two years ago.

The Senegal international was set for what would have been a Baggies record signing at £16 million in the August of 2016 before the west midlanders pulled out following the medical.

At the time there had been problems over a back injury the striker received while on international duty but his failure to complete the West Brom move was followed by attitude problems when he refused to join the Hammers on a close season tour of America.

The back issues returned and he played just four games in Hammers colours during the 2016/17 season proving Albion’s “call” correct.

However, Hammers medics are convinced that sustained treatment, therapy and rehab have overcome the problems and that the Palace medical won’t be an issue.

Negotiations will continue today as Palace and the Hammers look to complete a switch which would see a deal done at around £15 million – with £5 million being made up of extras.

Great imagine how many journeyman lower premier league players they can spend that on

  • jonnyd says:

An incredible fee if true. As our net spend this year (As C and H) was I believe circa £18m this brings it down to £3m – or £8m without add-ons.
Bearing this in mind why do the press keep stressing importance in selling Reece Oxford to fund purchases.

Isn’t Sakho injured – groin. Is there any truth in him bagging £50k every time he starts? If so how did the board agree that?
He’s better than Carroll and Hernandez.

  • Hammer64 says:

Unless Carroll maintains his WBA game form-& who would bet on that- I agree with you Robbie. But even if he was the worst out of three no well run club would let him go unless a replacement was nailed down. So I am waiting with great anticipation to hear in the next day or two what top notch striker the owners have been quietly nailing down. Am I really? Am I b*******.

If he goes to Palace I bet he scores against us When we play them. Won’t that make us look good…

Diafra going to the South London Window Cleaners dosen’t please me at all, I’ve always hoped he would come good for us and thought that would be so when Bilic went. I can still see him and Enner surging forward, my god they were exciting together for a while…. and I agree with Hammer64 he WILL score against us…..just like Diame and so many before him.

He aint gonna come good end of. Hes a spoilt little bratt who has no respect for how the club has got him over his injuries. Its Payet all over again get rid before he stinks out the dressing room. Hoping that now a fee is agreed the board are grafting hard on a deal for Smolov.

Yes. Same for Carroll not going to settle for a bench role even though the ungrateful c,unext ,t has been on the slab most of his contract. Doing a sakho ! So let’s give him a mention too !
Where was he at the shrews ? Getting his toenails painted in splints in case the manicurist breaks em lofl !!!😎

  • JRS says:

Sakho has been at Rush green training past 2 days so no medical. Think a lot of this is media speculation. Tho I do think PL clubs are keen like CP WBA Swansea Newcastle Everton but prefer not to sell to relegation rival unless a lot of money.
Saw earlier talks broke down on £12m deal w CL over personal terms BS. Bc he hasn’t even had an official offer yet.

This said worse could use Sakhos 2yr extension & play him bc is a good CF & hopefully board or Moyes & Henry is being smart & lining up a CF before seliing Sakho & Chic who looks likely to go as well.
I like Chic great person class finished but Wont work under Moyes. So might be best for him to go to LAFC close to home & can afford wages & pkay 2 up front w Mexican Natl partner .

See what happens but seeing Huddersfield w Kongolo & now Pritchard we need to get working & get off this PL experience bc any transfer is risk we just need players w talent & drive that will for the club & positions needed

The simple reason were dragging our feet JRS is because sully won’t pay top dollar ! He’s the biggest problem in this club , if he has no intention of forking out then move on and let somebody else have a go ! Its like watching paint dry every window !!😤
