Dawson’s pitch collapse explained

|

The mystery surrounding Craig Dawson’s nineteenth minute collapse in the game at Goodison Park has finally been resolved.

The Watford loanee making his second appearance for West Ham went down with a non-contact injury during the Premier League away victory.

The game was halted by the match official and Dawson looked completely out-of-sorts and appeared to be dizzy.

Dawson was attempting a clearance at the time but collapsed and received attention off the pitch before re-joining the action and carrying on for the remainder of the game.

David Moyes speaking to reporters post-match confirmed the centre back felt dizzy suggesting his blood sugar was low saying he needed something to eat or some sugar as a boost to continue.

The 30-year-old made his Hammers debut just four days ago against Southampton where he picked up the man of the match.

On that occasion, his boot came into contact with Che Adams head who joked afterwards he had been left with a ‘bit of a cauliflower ear’ after being booted in the head.

ClaretandHugh understand there doesn’t appear to be an underlying medical condition with Dawson and we have been told the defender was just feeling the effects of two games in three days at Premier League pace.

Been really happy with him and very surprised to be fair, but I’d stay down if I’d performed an air kick as spectacular as that. Probably still be there now, desperately hoping the ground would open up😂 COYI

BTW: Have we ever had 4 (F-O-U-R) solid and trustworthy CB’s? Just asking 😜

His done ok to be fair but still a donkey no technical ability only good in the air. Hopefully sent back soon as now they have another centre back plus diop which is enough . Left back needed and must say cresswell who I slate most times has been superb lately even without the technically superior masu . COYI
