Declan heading for a “beautiful moment”

|

Declan Rice looks very likely to be involved for Arsenal at the London Stadium with Arsenal arriving for the Carabao Cup clash.

And we seriously hope that the former skipper is given the great reception he deserves after the magnificent service he gave to West Ham,

Anything else would be shameful although beating him and his new club is the only thing that really matters in the first of the domestic Cup competitions.

And it would be entirely West Ham for them to do so in the middle of a slump – we know what we can often get from our team in such circumstances.

It will also surely be a night of mixed emotions for Declan who has said several times since his departure that he remains very much a Hammer at heart and speaks regularly to the lads at the club.

Commenting on whether he would be involved in the game Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: “He’s likely. He’s fit and can be involved. It will be his first time back at his old club and a beautiful moment I think for him.”

“I had the experience to do it a few times and then you really see what they think of you and what you left at the club. “It’s a really good way to measure your experience and your reality within the reality of the people who share moments with you.”
