Slaven Bilic was delighted to take a point at Old Trafford but claimed it could have been more.
Speaking after the game he said:: “It might have been more but it is a great point for us, especially as we played good. I have to praise the players, who showed character, commitment and quality, especially in the second half.
“In the first half, when we scored we were a little bit afraid we were winning at Old Trafford and then until they scored we lost too many balls.
“In the second half, we told the players to go up on them and I was very pleased how we played. You can’t attack here all the time, they tried to press when they lost the ball and if you get out of that there is a lot of space. We were using that really good in the second half.”
And discussing Darren Randolph’s display he said: “He deserved the chance. Make no mistake, it’s not Adrian’s fault we are in this position but Darren deserved a chance and he did really well.”
Great result and no Zaza hallelujah! Well done Slav
I thought we were really poor in the first half. Our passing was all over the place and we only had something like 25% possession. We were lucky the game wasn’t over at half time and have Randolph to thank for that. 2nd half we improved a lot and deserved the point. Antonio still frustrates the hell out of me. Every match 90-100% of his crosses are poor. I can’t be the only one picking up on this? I keep reiterating what difference does it make how strong and quick you are if you have no end product? He’s obviously good in the air and has good poaching instincts but we need better quality on the right side. Incredible that some think he’s England standard.
I agree with Bubbles only 10 men playing with Noble on the pitch – I could not help thinking during the game If Noble had been replaced with Fletcher and we had Sakho & Fletch up front ! – what impact that could have had ??
Mark Noble has been a great professional at West Ham and I for one will always admire his efforts and work rate but its has been so very obvious for so long now that he is an average prem player – a good sub to bring on when you are leading and want to hold on /replace tired legs etc , but a First team choice ?? – only when we do not have other options , we have been missing a special player in this position and now Kouyata has dropped back into defence ( great player and the change has been one of the main reasons for the team looking so much better of late ! ) Noble has been exposed even to those who rated him so highly , sorry Mark but its time for a change – for the sake of the team !
Of all the terrible Noble performances this is the worse . 3 times he sent short free kicks to the opposition and numerous times he lost the ball putting us under pressure .He was /is abysmal . With 11 on the pitch we could have won this game . At least no Haha .
But he’s one of our own and should be picked whatever form he’s in according to some 🙂
Yep we will get told how his pass completion is higher than any other midfield player while they neglect to mention most passes are five or six yards sideways or backwards.
With 11 on pitch we could have won this game but we had Noble . Of all the awful performances this is the worse .
Does anyone know how bad sakho’s injury is?
Hamstring. The way he walked off it doesn’t look like a tear. Fingers crossed .
Wow Yes COYIrons. Been waiting for this all season Come on Chairman forget trying to sign a new forward, give Sako a new contract. He has made us into a new team and inspired confidence
