West Ham last night responded to fan worries that Adrian should be signed to a new deal by explaining: “There’s no panic – we have a two year option.”
The Spaniard has been hugely impressive and become a terrace cult hero since his arrival from Real Betis but with his contract running out next summer, many fans feared he could stolen away.
The stopper has settled brilliantly at Upton Park and is as popular in the dressing room as he is among the fans.
Co-chairman David Gold revealed to ClaretandHugh: ” We are happy with the situation as we have an option on Adrian for a further two years.
“We are currently tying down many of our players as we need to but Adrian is very happy with us and his situation. Both sides are relaxed.”
