DG hands critic quick-fire Norwich answer

|

Gold2David Gold has spent his Sunday morning righting a few misapprehensions and bringing much needed news to Hammers fans following yesterday’s draws.

Unbelievably an impression appears to remain among some that there are easy Premier League games – a false reality the co chairman was keen to explode.

Confronted by one follower who claimed of Norwich: “Should be well clear of them, but can’t beat the easy teams at home! he responded: ” There are no easy teams in the Premier League it’s a thin line between winning and losing. dg”

Amazingly the original critical tweet  had been favourited 34 times and retweeted five times despite the Canaries being strong, well organised and boasting a decent away record.

Earlier – clearly in cheeky mood the chairman had declared: “West Ham are only just above Arsenal Tottenham and Chelsea. ”

And speaking to ClaretandHugh he said: “We’ve have been below them for so log. we have to remind them now, don’t we. It goes with the territory.”

He’s right, but when you get 3 great wins away against “strong” teams, expectations rise. We should all calm down and just look forward to the next game. Slav is still working on it. Stay cool, COYI.

Of course DG is completely right . We have been behind them for so many years it seems like we were always the poor noisy neighbours .. Now things are different .. And they are all jealous of our move to the OS .
Top London Club today ,, and long may it continue . As supporters we are more than a bit stunned to be honest , but when I see clubs like Chelsea being left in our wake it makes my heart burst with pride and joy . Getting a little excited now ,, best stop .
    Come on you Hammers .

I watched the game yesterday and from the kick off I could see what Norwich intended to do. The hole back line were very high which meant that it would be difficult for us to find space and get out quick passing going, very clever in my opinion. Our goal in the first half resulted in a ball over the top for Payet to run into space and pick his cross. Teams will come to Upton Park and try and close space to stop us playing, not so much the big boys who Will try to impose there own game on us. We just need to find away to break these teams down, with the pace we now have in the team I don’t think it will be long before we give a team a right spanking….

We still scored twice. More worrying for me is our defence. Cressy has had a nightmare season defensively continuously leaving acres of space on the flanks for the opposition to exploit. He seems to tuck in too tight on Winny and I think managers are picking up on this.Jenks seems to be almost as bad. Are they being told to play this way? I would like to see the stats of how many of the goals we have conceded have emanated from the wings! If my memory serves me correctly, too many!!! Slav-please take note.
