Diop window update

|

Suggestions that Issa Diop could be a departure today are wide of the mark Claret and Hugh understands.

The French centre back has been linked to a deadline day move to either Roma or Crystal Palace but David Moyes would not sanction a move until if a late bid was made.

The Roma link appears to be based on the basis that manager Jose Mourinho once said something nice about the defender when he was in charge on Manchester United.

He has been linked with every club Jose has managed ever since in every window, its all very predictable.

The new Palace link would also be rebuffed if real with David Moyes insisting he needs four centre backs for cover with the Europa League looming.

The manager has previously said said he has no intention of selling Diop, despite the player falling down the defensive pecking order.

“I’ve got no intention in letting any players go,” said Moyes last December. “Issa’s one of the players we really like. We’ve got no intention whatsoever letting Issa go. None.”
