Disappointing renewal rates at Club London

|

Claret and Hugh understands that renewals of Club London Corporate hospitality season tickets have been poor for next season and beyond. While general season tickets are scheduled to hit another ninety percent renewal rate by the end of May, the renewal rate of the Club London members has been way under the club’s target with club insiders saying they are disappointed at the take up rate.

This is the first year that Club London members have had the option to renew or leave as the founder London Stadium packages required a commitment of three years paid monthly by direct debit.

West Ham asked for another three year commitment from Club London members as well as a double percentage figure price rise which has left many to vote with their feet when the 17th April deadline past two weeks ago.

There are over 3,600 corporate hospitality members at the Club London and it is not known whether there is a waiting list or enough demand to fill the places left by those turning their back on Club London.

The worst bit is that they wouldn’t let us move seats. It’s was either commit to Club London for another three years and hope they allow you to move after 31st May or not renew and join the back of the waiting list for season tickets in “general admission”.
I had my season ticket since 2004 and I know there a many who have had theirs longer but because I literally can’t afford to risk paying £2400 for my seat next year, let alone the two subsequent years, I’ve had no option but to give my season ticket up because they refuse to arrange a move for me. Obviously the renewal deadline for the rest of the season is 31st May, but I don’t have much faith that Club london will assist me. Instead, I think they will try whatever they can to get me to sign up for a Club London ticket or cut their nose off to spite their face and let me leave without a season ticket

Just today they rang me to offer me a o e year rolling contract and said that by signing up to that, it “might” improve my chances of getting a season ticket in general admission because come 31st May id be a season ticket holder and in a better position to ask for a seat change, as opposed to right now where I am no longer a season ticket holder and am now at the mercy of club london

    Sean,

Myself and two friends have been season ticket holders for twenty years. We were sold the dream of club London three years ago after a call from a rep.

After signing up a year before the move we confirmed our seats and paid the £500 deposit to sit in club London and have membership to the Boleyn bar.

The whole experience has been poor to say the least:

    Shocking bar service.
Not enough toilets to cover the amount of fans.
The free beer at half time was so poorly organised and breaks the terms of the offer of multiple drinks for free.
Quality food offerings have ended up being cardboard tasting burgers and chips for £10, or pie and slops for another £10, the menu hasn’t changed in three years.
The seating actually extends beyond the roof coverage so you get soaked on a rainy winters day.
Beer prices have now hit £6.40 meaning many people decide to drink elsewhere before the game.
Access to other concerts and events never happened as event organisers didn’t work with club London.

The whole thing has been so poorly executed and not worth what we pay.

To add insult to injury me and my two friends are now not able to move to another area of the ground as club London works as a separate function to the rest of the ground, so we are basically going to the back of the waiting list.

After twenty odd years as season ticket holders we now no longer want to pay over £2400 per season for a poor product but do not have the option to move to other season tickets.

It’s gutting that we have ended up looking likely to have to purchase single tickets all season and furthermore we all have over 30 priority points from away game attendance which we will now lose.

Thanks Club London and thanks West Ham. Nice to see loyalty treated this way.
